Your next car could be an electric model! Many new and used “plug-in” hybrid and full electric models are now available.

Learn the basics of electric cars, range and charging considerations.

Discover which features are important to consider and assess their particular worth to you.

See some electric cars close up and talk to owners.

A pre-class survey of your driving habits will enrich in-class understanding. During the workshop, you will clarify your needs and walk away with the key facts that you need to go online or visit dealerships.

The fee is a modest $50 payable to UNC-Asheville. Registration is open to any member of the public.

A person has to create a login the first time that he/she uses the website to register. (If they have any problems with this, they can contact UNC-Asheville OLLI administrative assistant, Caitlin Han at 828-251-6140).

Instructors: Joe Baum is a retired automotive product development executive. Joe and Lenore Baum have owned an electric car for over three years and now own a second. They recharge it with solar energy and are charter members of the Blue Ridge Electric Vehicle Club.
